important because we have lots of rain. mike nicco is trapping on live doppler 7 -- tracking on live doppler 7 hd. >> i am a kansas alumni and rather sad. we will talk about what is going on as far as the forecast. the golden gate bridge shows still raining here. we have a lot of ponding on the roadway. the heavy radar is around veteran's boulevard and redwood city to atherton and you can see the heavy rain right there and we have a spot right around 84 moving through the union city area headed to fremont and fremont boulevard. you can see the eastern section of san jose where we have a yellow spot so moderate rain there south king road possible and right around 285. the best radar returns seem to be an area around the radar and they are 35 miles so the light-to-moderate rain we are seeing on the radar is possibly just radar shooting higher in the clouds but the potential is there for the rain to fall. know there could be ponding on the roadways we just talked about with light-to-moderate rain. friday, saturday, and sunday, the storm track will stay close enough we will have scattered drops

me. >> i only heard good things. >> it is 4:44. lisa is here for mike nicco. >> good morning. >> bringing good news? >> i think so. we had a lot of rain yesterday with the low level moisture that did not want to end but in the north bay, it is hard to pick up the runs by bodega bay but some of the mist and drizzle is us with. be careful. the visibility is reduced especially along the coast but elsewhere, you can see the mild temperatures and 55 in san jose and oakland and 60 for oakland and 55 in santa cruz. the golden gate bridge shows all of the clouds are on the deck. 54 in los gatos with mid-50's towards napa. throughout the morning hours we have plenty of clouds, a few spotty light showers but over all mostly cloudy and unsettled for the weekend in terms of the shower activity. you could see a little pit of it but this morning you notice how much warmer it is, up to five degreeses warmer since the passage of the ban. we are in between systems with a weak flow and it will be a mild afternoon. a little bit of spotty drizzle. we are looking at a couple of systems just the t

of mount tamalpais where it's foggy and wet and lake tahoe with the changing situation there. mike nicco has been tracking the storm and joins us live. >> very impressive system for some areas. received as much rain in the last 24 hours for the first three months of this year. here is a look from the southeast back towards the east. oakland nearly an inch and same with santa rosa and san francisco. down in san jose right now the clouds are opening up. it's drier and least amount of rain at .7 and quarter in concord and castro valley about a third. it's considerably quieter than they were. we have a cell over novato. american canyon, 29, that area is seeing wet weather. that is about it. as you can see over the last three or four hours, drying trend but the air is so moist and small chunk of energy, stray shower is possible. worst of the wet weather is over. >> we definitely needed rain. how did it affect people in the bay area? here is a look. >> reporter: hi, cheryl. we're seeing a break in the rain. a little bit of blue sky and some sun. we're over interstate 880 where bu earlier it wa

of the weather. mike nicco? >> good morning to you. nice to have you here. nice to see you, katie marzullo. always nice to have another italian around. we are looking down from mount tamalpais, you can see sausalito to san francisco with not much fog. the cameras headed to novato show the thickest fog at the reporting stations. down to a quarter-mile visibility in novato with fog along the east bay shore but it is not hitting the reporting stations. if you are on 13 this morning you are going to get foggy at some point in time. that is our big story for the morning. the patchy fog and the temperatures are cooler than yesterday and mid-40's to around 50. by noon, most of us are dealing with sunshine and a few left over clouds and temperatures are hang out in the low-to-mid 50's away from the coast. as you head to 4:00, watch out for the sunshine if you are outside today, sunscreen could be needed and brighter and warmer and mid-to-upper 60's and by 7:00, back in the low 60's. increasing clouds but warmer tomorrow and the rain comes in especially for thursday's commute a quick hitter and by

this morning. not feeling all of mike nicco's thunder. >> oh. >> thanks. >> there is no thunder to steal. that is incidents what is going on right now. you can see zoom down near hayward right on 238, you can see on vanderbilt street right there and seeing some of the better radar returns, heading over to wickes boulevard, farallones drive. some of the better radar returns. when we broaden out the picture it's mainly from the bay bridge but finding the radar returns, as was the case yesterday, it's moving from south to north. if you live north of this area, we do have rain on the way and reduced visibility. down to three miles in hayward and mile and a quarter in half moon bay. we're going to get most widespread rain with scattered showers and scattered sunshine this afternoon and temperatures about where they were yesterday. good morning. >> good morning, mike. we do have few extra cars out on the roads. 28 minutes along 580 central valley out to the dublin pleasanton area. looking slow from antioch to concord. 80 at top speeds moving at 13 minutes between berkeley and out to the maze.

than a century. >> exactly 4:45. mike nicco, what going on? >> thick fog. first live doppler 7 hd shows it is just fog. it is dry this morning. no need to worry about traveling through wet weather. looking where it is thickest in the north bay valleys, three quarters mile visibility in santa rosa down 101 to novato so, 12, 116, 29, all have fog this morning. headed to half moon bay we have thick fog along the coast. in the afternoon, though, the low clouds lit with mostly cloudy conditions because of the mid-level clouds ahead of the system. it is also bringing a bump up in temperatures and it will be mild from the coast to our inland neighborhoods. steady rain for the commute tomorrow and a chance of rain moves to the north saturday and sunday. it is a small chance but the north bay could get a sprinkle saturday and sunday. the cloud cover shows at 5:00 this morning, notice how it just sits until, say, 10:00, and we start to see it evaporate inland. stubborn around the bay by noon and the low clouds are gone back to the coast and by 3:00 that is when the high and mid-level clouds come
